LONDON FASHION WEEK
The Minx team have have been keeping a close eye on London Fashion Week to inspire our future collections. Below are some of our favourites off the catwalk.

Afterparty shoes.

Ladies who love their high heels may already be aware of ‘emergency’ flats that roll up and fit inside a bag in order to be slipped onto tired feet the end of a long night of dancing. Two new companies have taken the concept a step further by selling their version of portable flats in vending machines at nightclubs.
Rollasoles sell for about £5.00 and come in four colors: Hi Ho Silver, Gold Digger, and Back to Black and Pink. When tested in Oceana and Liquid nightclubs, the classic looking ballet quickly shoes sold out. Rollasoles is planning to introduce more vending machines and eventually branch out beyond the UK.
Afterheels are similar rollable ballet flats that also sell for about £5.00 but have—according to the company—the added feature of being sustainable; the bodies of the shoes are made from natural materials and the polypropylene insoles are fully recyclable. Both Rollasoles and Afterheels are sold with a matching bag to carry their wearer's stilettos home. It’s hard to imagine a place where this kind of convenience wouldn’t appeal to ladies after their Prom.

Don’t panic about your prom night – Stress Relief, Diet & Exercise

Make a List
Jotting down a to-do list not only helps you get organized but also keeps panic in its place, says Minx’s designer Liz. “When you see your jobs written down in black and white, they become less overwhelming and more manageable. ” Keep your list handy and check things off as you go along. We certainly agree with Liz as she is the organised one in the office and now has given us all pre-printed To Do Lists.
Plan a Snack Attack
Amy is the Minx cook and we love her “Cake Thursday”. She suggests you snack on carbohydrate-rich foods in addition to eating your three main meals a day. Eating carbohydrates releases serotonin, a feel-good brain chemical. So to help stay calm, try chewing on these mood foods: a few crackers with peanut butter or some fresh fruit or if you are near our store – pop in and try one of Amy’s cakes!
Shake It, Baby!
Diane is the Minx exercise guru. She teaches Yoga so helps to keep us all sane and stress free. Diane recommends raising your heart rate to help relieve those preprom jitters and give you the added benefit of a healthy glow. You don’t need a gym class workout either just put on your favorite music and practice your dance moves. A sure way to squash your stress!
Hydrate—Don’t Caffeinate
To keep your body—and mood—in top shape drink water. Every cell in our body contains water and every body function requires water to work. Dehydration can lead to fatigue and can increase stress. If you think chugging Coke or other caffeinated drinks will set your liquid levels back on track, get ready for a splash of reality. Caffeine can cause a decrease in blood sugar and this can intensify those fretful feelings. Instead, down eight glasses of water over the course of the day to make sure you hit optimum hydration.
